Kay Notto
About
Kay Notto is passionate about writing, her family and career in the skilled trades and industrial manufacturing industry.
She currently works as an industrial maintenance planner in Hamilton, Ontario Canada and is writes about in-demand careers, like skilled trade work, that offer skills and value in and outside of the work environment.
Originally on the path to become a social worker, Kay obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario in 2012 but changed course and jumped into the millwright trade blind. It set her on the path towards personal success.
She studied Industrial Manufacturing Engineering (Automation) at Mohawk College to obtain her diploma as an industrial technician at the trade campus in Stoney Creek.
Graduating with an exciting offer of full-time employment in 2016 at a world-renowned steel manufacturing company, she has been working in the industry since starting in 2014.
Working up from a co-op student to apprentice, then floor mechanic to maintenance planning, Kay enjoys learning about her trade, equipment and the inner-workings of manufacturing.
